Recital and concert venue

The College Club of Boston is proud to offer a beautiful, intimate space for recitals and concerts. Our beautiful Percy-Dauber Room features a Steinway grand piano and is spacious enough for a small ensemble plus seating from 12 - 60.  Small receptions can be held through catering by our Chef.  If interested, please call us for a viewing appointment at 617-536-9510.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

-Our recitals typically require a 4-hour block, which includes time for set-up and tear-down. Would this require us to rent two 2.5-hour blocks?

  • We can price you for four hours, $500, and we will set chairs as you specify.
  • Our piano was just tuned in June and we plan to tune the piano every few months, but if you want it tuned specially for you prior to recital, we’d charge $200.

- What are your opening hours?

  • 10am to 9pm, depending on our availability.  Since we are also a Bed & Breakfast and guests sleep in a bit we can’t go earlier.

- Is there a representative who manages building access, or is it possible for our attendees to enter freely?

  • Your attendees can enter freely from 9am to 7pm.

- Is there any parking available at or near the venue?

  • As in most of the Back Bay, street parking is residential/sticker, meter, or spots near 44 Comm Ave may be found on SpotHero.
  • Back Bay Garage is the closest:  85 St. James Ave (west bound one way at Berkeley St), or 199 Clarendon (south bound one way).

- We often hold a small reception after our recitals where our students and their families bring their own refreshments. Is this a possibility at your location?

  • Unfortunately, as a licensed food establishment, we do not allow food to be brought in (events and catering is our business), and Massachusetts law prohibits food to be brought into a licensed establishment that is not prepared by a commercial caterer in a licensed kitchen.  We can’t be put in a liability situation for any foodborne illness caused by outside food that was brought into our building.
  • We can happily work within a budget for things like appetizers, soda and wine/beer for adults.  If someone wants to bring commercially/bakery prepared specially decorated cake or cupcakes we would allow that.
